We spent 2 weeks in Japan on a package holiday organised by www.deeppowdertours.com. We spent time in Tokyo and Nagano soaking up some Japanese culture before arriving in Hakuba for the serious task of skiing.
Hakuba is like no other ski town I have ever been to in the fact that there are about 7 ski resorts within an easy drive of the town. All the resorts have very effecient lift systems and have free bus rides to and from the resort.
We stayed at the Blue Dragon in Hakuba run by an aussie couple Pete and Leanne and it really made our stay in Hakuba an experience to remember. From inside tips on which ski hill would be on for the day or booking us into the front bar of the local sushi restaurant we were very well looked after. Also the common room and bar was a great place to sit back and have a drink at the end of the day and chill out with the other guests. www.bluedragonhakuba.com
I put this video together from the footage of the ski days we had from the different resorts we skied over the week. Music is Bees from Caribou and it was a really fun trip.
